Ghana Volunteer Testimonials
"Ghana was absolutely wonderful. The program there is very well run, and I so enjoyed my teammates, and the village. We were so respected, and appreciated by the chiefs, queen mother, teachers and head masters at the school. The students eagerness to learn is wonderful. Being called 'Madam Liz,' and 'Obroni Grandma' by my students and their teacher touched me deeply. The guest house is very comfortable, the food good, and our team leader assisted everyone with whatever they needed or wanted to accomplish. The total experience was amazing. It's almost impossible to put into words what going and doing these trips means to me. The rewards are so great."

"The most memorable moment was the first day I entered the preschool and a little girl ran to me and threw her arms around my legs. I was a goner! The children are so open and accepting. They are eager to play and, like children everywhere, they love to have fun."

"I learned so much from the local nurses. They taught me assessment skills I had abandoned for technology. One nurse named Lucy taught me how to bring nursing into the community when we gave door-to-door polio immunizations."

"During my two weeks, I was digging the foundation for the clinic and laying block for the school. We were working with a Ghanaian crew. I would tell the black masons I was working with that I worked with people just like you in China. We're all different colors, but we're all the same guy."
