Co-founder and CEO:
Bud directs the organization's internal and external business and is Chairman of the Board. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, a Master's Degree in Public Affairs, and a Juris Doctor (Law). He has served as Deputy Undersecretary for USDA, as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, Assistant Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, a government affairs consultant for Rural Ventures Corporation, and was in private law practice for 12 years. |

Michele Gran
Co-founder and Senior Vice President:
Michele manages the organization's marketing strategy and external messages. She earned a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies/International Communications and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. Before joining the staff in 1990, she worked as a public relations consultant, and held communications manager positions at various departments in Minnesota State Government, and in non-profit organizations. Michele also has led over 35 Global Volunteers teams. |

Michelle Heerey
Vice President for Operations:
Michelle manages Global Volunteers' programs around the globe, including host relations, project planning, budgeting and evaluation, and continuous improvement. She earned a Masters Degree in Public Health with a focus on international health and development. Michelle has previously held positions at USAID, Johns Hopkins University and several other NGOs. |

Bonnie Christensen
Vice President for Finance:
Bonnie manages Global Volunteers' department budgets, monthly budget reviews, yearly audit and fiscal reports as well as acting as a liaison with Global Volunteer's Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Summa cum Laude, with a BS in Accounting. Bonnie has previously held finance/finance management positions at Honeywell, Northwest Airlines, and Deluxe Corporation.

Don Szurek
Director of Information Systems:
Don manages all of Global Volunteers' technology. He earned both a Bachelor's Degree in Math and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. With a background in high tech business, he employs his extensive expertise in process reengineering and technology, continually upgrading our communications in the field, our online efficiency and service to our volunteers.

Caitlin Carroll
Office Manager & Executive Assistant to CEO:
Caitlin manages Global Volunteers' U.S. office, supervises the administrative and building services team and assists the CEO with executive functions. She studied at Trinity College Dublin before earning a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and worked in corporate incentive travel programs, conducted Ethiopian community outreach for international adoption, and taught English in Spain.
